Steamcup
A little coffee for a long-running task.
A pixel coffee cup in your menu bar keeps builds, renders, and agent tasks running. Click to stay awake, or keep it on until a terminal command finishes.

About the project
Long-running work can outlast your Mac’s wake time. Steamcup makes staying awake a menu-bar action: for a timer, a command, or work that needs to continue with the lid closed, then returns the computer to normal sleep behavior.
What you can do
- Click the cup to toggle keep-awake mode or set a timer.
- Keep the computer awake until a chosen terminal command finishes.
- Optionally enable lid-closed mode; initial setup requires administrator approval.
Where it stands
An open-source Alpha. Switching, timers, lid mode, and recovery after a command ends have been tried on one Apple Silicon MacBook running macOS 26. macOS 14–15, Intel devices, and actual heat or low-battery stops still need testing.
